Rescue Rules & Information
Welcome to the Canterlands Rescue. We're so glad you're thinking about adopting one (or more!) of the animals in our care! Before proceeding, ensure that you have read all animal/horse welfare requirements and the rules below.
- Players may only place two applications for rescue animals/lots per rescue cycle.
- Rescue horses will not be rehoused to breeding facilities; a facility owner may apply for the horse, however, applications where the provided coordinates lead to a breeding facility will not be counted. They may not be used to breed for any form of profit — you may, within reason, breed your own foal(s), provided they are likely to be kept.
- When an application is submitted to adopt an animal, a member of staff will check your property to ensure it complies with welfare guidelines.
- If a property is flagged for not following welfare rules, you'll receive a direct message detailing the issues. An animal will not be adopted out to a property that contains welfare issues.
- An animal may have a smaller chance of being adopted to properties that have had multiple or severe welfare warnings in the past.
Common reasons for not being chosen to adopt an animal include (but are not limited to):
- Incorrect welfare issues (includes all animals on the property)
- Not putting effort into your rescue application
- Multiple players applying for the same animal
All players are assessed on the above. If an area has been deemed to provide a better environment for the animal (larger space, enrichment, etc.), it is more likely to be considered, also taking into account the player's application.
Candidates who have written multiple sentences and have areas with enrichment will be more likely to be chosen over someone who doesn't write much or has the bare minimum in place. Grammar is also preferred to show you've taken the time to write your application.
Even if you are the only applicant for the animal, you are not guaranteed to be selected for adoption.
You may not apply for a horse on behalf of another player; the potential owner of the animal needs to apply for and collect the animal if successful with their adoption application.
If an animal is not picked up during the collection period, it will be put back up for adoption.
Important: Rescue horses or animals cannot be sold for at least two weeks from the date of the mail notification.
